MRES - In Praise Of The Forklift (National Forklift Safety Day)

The first Tructractor is built in Buchanan, Michigan by employees of the CLARK Equipment Company.

The history of the forklift dates back to the early 20th century. The first true forklift, known as the lift truck, was invented in 1917 by an American entrepreneur named Eugene Clark. It was designed to move heavy loads within his lumberyard.

However, it was not until the 1920s that the concept of the forklift began to gain wider recognition and adoption. Companies such as Yale & Towne Manufacturing and Clark Material Handling Company played significant roles in refining and popularizing the technology.

Over the years, advancements in hydraulic systems, electric motors, and ergonomic designs have greatly improved the efficiency and safety of forklifts. Today, forklifts have become indispensable in various industries, enabling the efficient movement and transportation of goods in warehouses, distribution centers, and factories worldwide.
